State of the Pod

State of the Pod is a student-driven podcast production based at Cornell University and committed to bridging the gap between science issues and the greater public. We actively attempt to dispel miscommunication surrounding science and technology issues through well-researched and innovative digital story-telling, and encourage greater public discussion through our launch exhibits.

I founded State of the Pod in January 2019 and we have since grew to a community of 15 + student producers, overseen the training of two cohorts and released two seasons on Apple Podcast, Spotify, and Google Podcast.

Why Is Science Misinformation Dangerous?

We live in a new digital age of rapid technological and scientific developments, which drastically reshape our society along with how we view the world around us. In an age of anti-vaxxers and climate change deniers, it is increasingly pressing to open the conversation and challenge the greater public to think critically about the information they receive in order to identify science misinformation and make informed decisions. Science issues don’t grow in a bubble and neither should news and discussions of their developments. Instead, we should actively discuss with our friends, family and fellow community members because public discourse is the answer to stopping the spread of dangerous false information.
